Post changing oil 3.0

Today i changed my oil on my 1999 ford ranger 3.0l and figured i would share with all of you who may non know how.

Tools you will need:
1.oil pan
ii.socket wrench
3. 16mm socket
4.oil filter wrench (optional)
5.funnel (optional)
6. 5w-20 motor oil (preferably motorcraft constructed)
7. Oil filter (I use K&North PS-2009)

get-go place the oil pan underneath the oil drain plug located on the oil pan as shown

When thats finished draining supplant the plug and locate your oil filter which is in a tight enough place where i couldnt fifty-fifty fit my photographic camera but its pretty easy to see from under the truck.

Once you've located the filter place the oil pan underneath it and remove it and your oil is drained.

Catch your new filter and oil my infant simply gets motorcraft synthetic and thou&northward filters

(i accept a ford ranger non a mazda for anyone that sees the outline spraypaint mazda symbol)
Lube the new filter by dipping your finger in the new oil and rubbing some in and around the filter and O ring, then replace your filter with the new one
Go as hand tight as possible and with the filter wrench (if y'all have 1) go ane/4-1/2 turn

Once your new Filter is on yous can remove your oil fill cap located on the valve cover

Place your funnel in the oil filler neck and cascade 4.5qts of oil in, put the cap back on, check your oil and your done!

Hope this helps for whatever beginner ranger owners, good luck!

The oil filter is the biggest hurting in the ass to become to, took me like 3 hours to change because the filter was pretty much stuck on.

I always finish up taking 3 or 4 wrenches with me under the vehicle because I tin never call up the size from car to car.

for the filter, you can get to it a chip easier through the wheel well. you can then cascade the residual oil out, then pull the filter out with your arm.

i've plant the easy style (for me),is to remove filter from up top,in engine bay.
but exist careful bringing it upward, then dump the old oil in pan.
i've tryed underneath,and it's a pain in the ass.
i change my oil every 3000 miles, and then for me,removeing filter from above is easier.

I literally tried everything to get it out the outset time, information technology ended up coming out looking nothing like an oil filter. It didn't help that the last time the oil was changed, they didn't lube the seal then information technology was stuck on.

I remove my filter from the peak too. No matter how hard I try I nevertheless become the starter all oily every fourth dimension I change mine. I even wrapped it in a plastic handbag when I removed the filter and it still had a little bit of oil on it.

i don't get information technology. you saw the thread i posted, but decided non to await in information technology and then make the same thread instead?

I just saw information technology later on the forum showed me it when I went to make this thread. I didn't hateful to describe attention away, or put your mail down. I but noticed that i couldn't notice it nether 3.0 tech and so I figured it would be a bit easier to find for those of united states with iii.0's. My apologies, I'grand still learning to use the forum.
